I would have thought 6 small TBI units would have be a better setup on these intakes. Outside of having the injectors closer to the reed plates not too sure why they did it like this. the other was to drill and tap the manifold with bungs to install the injectors into. Basically you had two options for that conversion one was to mount a TBI and GM with an adapter plate. Used Gm fuel injectors and a custom Computer, MAP sensor from a GM. I built an injection system with a car I had before. I was like wtf is all this wiring and **** doing in the intake. I know the evinrude was a 3.3 versus a 3.0 And the 225 ho is supposedly a 247hp motor.Īctually thought about this when I first popped the manifold off. I can only seem to squeeze out 5500 rpms and it just doesn’t have the mid range oomph or out of the hole go that the evinrude had. Now I am having trouble spinning a 27 pitch tempest plus. Reason being I was able to run mid 70’s with a 28 pitch raker 2 prop with my evinrude 225 HO. This is of course specific to the 2002+ efi motors as they already have the downdraft I take and better tuners.įor me personally I would like to try to get this to 250hp with as little cash and craziness as possible and ideally retain the stock sound. There has to be a fairly easy way to squeeze 250 and 300hp out of these things given they are essentially the same. Stage 3 - 300 HP high compression heads plus above?Īt what point would would see any benefit from lightened flywheel, porting fuel injectors, high flow pumps etc.įor the extreme 400hp what sort of mods are you talking? Stage 1 - ecu reflash (talked to Simon and they said 12-15 more HP) So if we were to say break this down into stages.
